PRACTICAL PROCESS SUPPORT
Crypto Estate Planning Consultancy for Safer Professional Processes
If cryptocurrency and digital assets are starting to appear in your client work, Plutus can help you turn an uncertain or inconsistent approach into something clearer, safer and easier for your team to use.
Practical consultancy for professionals reviewing how cryptocurrency and digital assets are identified, discussed, recorded and escalated within their existing professional process. This is not a compliance audit, legal opinion or investment service.
WHEN CONSULTANCY HELPS
Knowing crypto matters is one thing. Building it into your process is another.
A training session can give people knowledge and confidence. Consultancy is useful when you then need to decide what your organisation actually does with that knowledge.
Inconsistent fact-finding
Different colleagues may ask different questions, record different information or miss the issue altogether.
Unclear information boundaries
Teams may understand that digital assets matter without being clear about what belongs on the file and what sensitive information should never be held.
No obvious next step
A practitioner may identify cryptocurrency but still be unsure when to continue, when to pause and when legal, tax or specialist technical input may be required.
HOW CONSULTANCY WORKS
Start with the process you already have
The aim is not to build a complicated new crypto procedure. It is usually to make sensible changes to the client journey, documents and decision points your team already uses.
Map the current approach
We look at where digital assets currently appear in your client journey, fact-find, forms, conversations, file notes and internal guidance.
Identify practical gaps
We look for unclear questions, unnecessary information collection, record-keeping risks and places where your team may not know what to do next.
Build a usable approach
The result is a proportionate working approach that fits the way your team already operates rather than another policy nobody uses.
WHAT A REVIEW CAN COVER
The practical parts of your client process
- Client fact-finding and digital-asset questions.
- Digital-asset inventories and information boundaries.
- File notes and professional record keeping.
- Internal guidance and escalation points.
- Client communications and letters in plain English.
- Wills, LPAs and estate-planning process considerations.
- Probate workflows where digital assets are discovered.
- Targeted training needs for the team.
Consultancy supports your process. It does not replace professional advice.
Plutus does not provide legal, tax, regulated investment or compliance advice. We do not take custody or control of assets and do not request private keys, seed phrases, passwords, two-factor authentication codes or recovery information. Where a matter requires specialist professional input, part of a safer process is recognising that point.
PRACTICAL OUTPUTS
What might come out of a process review?
The exact output depends on your organisation and the scope agreed, but the purpose is to leave you with something usable rather than a theoretical report.
START WITH YOUR CURRENT PROCESS
You don’t need to know exactly what needs fixing
A brief outline of your organisation, the work you do and where digital assets currently create uncertainty is enough to start the conversation. We can then work out whether you need consultancy, training or simply a clearer next step.
Please don’t send client credentials, private keys, seed phrases, passwords or recovery information through the contact form.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Consultancy questions
Is this a compliance review?
No. Plutus provides practical process consultancy and training. The work can help identify areas where your internal approach could be clearer, but it is not a compliance audit, legal opinion or regulatory sign-off. You should obtain any legal, tax, regulatory or compliance advice your organisation requires.
Can you review our existing forms, fact-find or guidance?
Yes. A process-focused engagement can include reviewing the way digital-asset issues are raised, recorded and communicated in existing documents and workflows. Sensitive client information should normally be removed or anonymised before documents are shared for review.
Can consultancy include team training?
Yes. In some cases the process itself is clear, but the people using it need more knowledge or confidence. In others, a review may identify specific areas where targeted training would help the team apply the new approach consistently.
Do we need a complete crypto policy?
Not necessarily. For many firms, the most useful starting point is much simpler: clearer fact-finding questions, safer record-keeping boundaries and an obvious route for situations that need further support.
Can you help with a live probate case instead?
Yes. If the issue is a particular estate rather than your firm’s wider process, the probate support service may be more appropriate. See probate support →
Will you ask us for wallet credentials or access information?
No. Plutus does not take custody or control of assets and does not ask for private keys, seed phrases, passwords, two-factor authentication codes or recovery information as part of a normal consultancy engagement.
